SBA Business Valuation Requirements for SBA Loan Guarantees

The SBA SOP 50 10 5(f) requires business valuations or business appraisals for companies being sold with goodwill over $250,000.00.  The business valuations need to be prepared by a certified or qualified business appraiser.   The bank seeking a SBA loan guarantee must order the appraisal although it is not completely clear if the valuation is solely for the banks benefit or for the bank and the borrower’s benefit.  For more information and to read the SOP click here.

Harvest Business Advisors prepares 30-40 SBA, Small Business Administration Business Valuations per year.  Each SBA business valuation is a full opinion of value that meets all required standards.  We have prepared SBA business appraisals for almost every type business including many franchises located from Michigan to Texas to New York and of course through-out the Mid Atlantic states of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.  For more information on our SBA services click here.
